HSMS Art students recently participated in the 13th annual Greers Ferry Lake Art Show and Competition. This event is sponsored by Beta Xi Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. 32 of our HSMS students placed first, second or third in various technique categories! Stormi Bradshaw, 8th grade was the overall winner for the 7/8th grade category. Congratulations and great job to all of you!

The Middle School Band performed at the Region IX Concert Assessment yesterday in Conway. They received 1st Division, Superior Ratings on stage and in sight-reading. Congratulations to our awesome HSMS Band & HSMS Band Directors! We are proud of you!!

The Mid Winter Concert will be Monday, February 29 at 7pm in the Performing Arts Center. The concert will consist of the Middle School Band followed by the High School Band, with each group performing their three contest pieces. Please come and support our amazing Band!!

Today was an eventful day at the middle school. We were scheduled to have several HVAC units replaced on the roof and were told that they would be doing one room at a time and students would be displaced for about an hour. The plan was for them to go to the library or cafeteria at that time. That was the plan...what actually happened was that they set up to do 8 rooms at a time which required moving about 200 students out and then the crane had problems which made that delay even longer. The end result was that students had a really, really long recess because they couldn't get back into their classrooms. We have since had a meeting with the contractor and we will not have the same problem tomorrow. School will be in session and classes will be taught in the normal manner. It will be a "B" day.
