This day will be used as the Spring Parent/Teacher Conference date. Teachers will be on campus from 8am-7pm to meet with parents.
Elementary teachers have sent home letters to parents to schedule specific times. If you have not received a letter, please contact your child's teacher.
Middle School and High School teachers will be on campus all day for drop in conferences.
If you are unable to attend on this date but need to speak with your child's teacher...please email them for more information.

Due to the current rise in positive cases and student/faculty absences, the district will be taking Alternate Means of Instruction (AMI) days on Thursday and Friday of this week.
Buses will not be running Thursday or Friday. If you are in need of a student meal for Thursday and Friday, please contact your student’s school office before 10:00am on Thursday. The meals can be picked up between 12:00pm-2:00pm on Thursday in front of the Middle School.
Please remember that the school is also out on Monday, January 17, 2022.
If your child is positive, please continue to call the school offices to report those for accounting purposes and for identifying probable close contacts.
Elementary School/Preschool
The Elementary/Preschool will be closed to on-site instruction but available for elementary-aged and pre-school students to assist with childcare. The Elementary will be sending school work packets home with each child.
Middle School/High School
The Middle School and High School will be closed to on-site instruction. The Middle School and the High School will be utilizing online assignments through Google Classroom. Students who do not have access to the internet will have time upon returning on Tuesday, January 18 to complete assignments.
Faculty/Staff
All school employees should report as normal.
This temporary closure will allow the school additional time for cleaning and sanitation of facilities and buses. It will also give students 5 days as recommended by the Department of Education and the Department of Health to quarantine/isolate from others. Our plan is to be back to full on-site learning on Tuesday, January 19, 2022. We will continue to require masks until our color improves on the ACHI.net website.

The Heber Springs Panther Trap Team is ready for you to sign up! Forms can be found in the Middle School and High School office for those interested. Remember this is for 6th thru 12th grade students only.
Forms and money are due by February 1st.

In an abundance of caution, Skills and Drills for the 4th - 6th Grade boys has been cancelled this week.

We wanted to remind you that face coverings will be required for all students, faculty, and staff of Heber Springs Schools beginning tomorrow, Monday, January 10th. This past week we had to quarantine over 100 students due to lack of face coverings and the rise of Covid once again. We are hopeful that our quarantine numbers will dwindle beginning this week and that we will be able to drop from our current status back down to orange soon.

New Quarantine Guidelines

Please take a moment to read the information page regarding Alternative School Calendars. We have several options and we would like your input.

We are back at school and ready to finish the year strong.
Please take a moment to watch Dr. Ashley's video this week...there are several IMPORTANT topics you need to know and help us with.
Be sure to look at the description on YouTube!

The roads around the District have been monitored since 4am, and as of 6:30am the roads are clear. We will begin school on time, unless conditions deteriorate. Please use extreme caution as conditions can change quickly around sunrise.

Unfortunately, the number of positive Covid cases and quarantined individuals are growing and are similar to the numbers we saw in September. According to the Quarantine Mitigation plan developed in August, face coverings will be required for all students and staff when ACHI.com has the area inside our district boundaries highlighted as Red/Purple. The latest ACHI map was posted today, and we are highlighted as RED. Face coverings will be required starting Monday, January 10th, and will continue until ACHI changes our area to Orange or lower.
We understand there are many opinions about face coverings/masks and their effectiveness. Our Quarantine Mitigation Plan was developed for the sole purpose of keeping students in school. When all our students and staff wear face coverings, the required number of quarantined individuals are reduced.
We have been very fortunate in the past few months that our numbers have been low enough that face coverings were not required. We hope that everyone will follow this plan so that we can get back to those days soon.

Heber Springs Schools is honored and thankful to have the support of the great citizens and businesses in our tremendous community. Our Business of the Month selection for December goes to Project Crosswalk. Members of Project Crosswalk have been some of the first to volunteer and provide items for our faculty and staff members over the years. Our students are blessed with the Coat Project, the Shoe Project, and back to school haircuts. We are so thankful to have organizations like Project Crosswalk supporting Heber Springs Schools. Congratulations and thank you for your continued support of the students, staff, and families at Heber Springs Schools.

Two of our 5th grade students came up with a leadership project of collecting donations for the Heber Springs Humane Society. Students may bring dog food, cat food, pet supplies, or monetary donations from December 6 through December 17. There is a collection box by the Elementary School Office where students can drop off their donations. If a student brings a money donation, please put it in a ziplock bag or envelope, label it Humane Society Donation, and send it to the office. We are very proud of these girls for leading the way with this project. Donations will be delivered to the Humane Society on December 17. Needed items are listed below and please take a moment to watch their video by clicking the link.
